4. Schedule and Costs

The cost and approximate scheduling of events during the implementation phase are summarized for the eleven major projects in Tables 1 and 2. Costs were further stratified into five categories:

computing hardware EQUIPMENT (EQPM),
SOFTWARE and data services (SW),
TELECOM infrastructure,
CONTRACTORS (CNTRS)- system engineering, training, and other contracted services,
General TRAINING, and
LOCAL COSTS (L. COSTS) - costs incurred by SIS to prepare and implement the project.

General training will focus on survey methodology, survey re-engineering, management in a statistical organization environment, and similar areas which are typically not available in the private sector, but can be procured by agreement with other offices at non-commercial rates.

Table 1 below gives a summary of project cost estimates, summarized according to the above categories.

The scheduling of the projects should follow the approximate time table shown in Table 2..
