
ANNUAL POPULATION INTERCENSAL INCREASE RATE: Annual intercensal inreases between two consecutive censuses are calculated by a natural increase formula on the basis of results obtained from two censuses. The natural increase formula is expressed as follows:
Pn=Po.ernMID-YEAR POPULATION: Mid-year population is calculated by the same natural increase formula. The n value used in the formula is expressed in terms of years. The censuses are generally taken on Sunday of the third week in October, thus the value of n in the formula is the length of time between the day of the census and the first of July, expressed in years.
HOUSEHOLD: Aperson or group of people with or without a family relationship who live in the same house or in the same part of a house,who share their meals, earnings and expenditures who take part in the management of the household and who render services to the household. Persons who are guests on the census day are not counted as members of the household, whereas members of the household who are away on the census day are included in the number of household members.
AGE: The completed age in years, of the person enumerated.
PLACE OF BIRTH: For those born in Turkey, the name of the province classified according to the present administrative division; and for those born outside of Turkey, the name of the country according to its present classification.
LITERACY: The people who know how to read and write with the new Turkish alphabet are accepted as literate. Those who knew how to read but not how to write and those who were able to read and write in the old Turkish alphabet are considered illiterate.
MARITAL STATUS: The declarations marital status as "Single", "Married", "Widowed", or "Divorced" are accepted as such.
This question was asked to people 12 years old and over during census.
LIVE BIRTH: A birth is considered a live birth if the baby born takes one breath and shows signs of being alive at birth.This question is asked to all married widowed or divorced female population with the aim of determining the number of live births.
INFANT MORTALITY RATE: The ratio of the number of infant deaths under one year in a given year to the number of live births in that year in thousands.
CHILD MORTALITY RATE: Mortality between age 1 and 5. Infant mortality rate and child mortality rates were estimated by the Brass-Trussell method.
TOTAL FERTILITY RATE: It is an index which indicates the total number of births a woman will have during all of her reproductive years (ages 15-49). The sum of adjusted age-specific fertility rates multiplied by 5.
GROSS REPRODUCTION RATE: It shows the number of female births a will have during her reproductive years. It is the total fertility rate multiplied by (100/205).
MEAN AGE AT CHILDBEARING: It is average age of a woman when the woman had her children during her reproductive years. It was calculated by weighting the mean age of each interval with the age-specific fertility rates and dividing this by the sum of the age-specific fertility rates.
WEIGHTED AVERAGE AGE: The class mark for each age group is multiplied by the number of individuals in that group, and the sum of products thus obtained is divided total population.
MEDIAN AGE: The median age of a certain population is the age of of the middle individual or the arithmetic average of the two middle individuals when all the individuals in the population are arranged in order of magnitude.
TOTAL AGE DEPENDENCY RATIO: The number of people in the age groups 0-14 and 65 and over to every 100 people in the age group 15-64.

ECONOMICALLY ACTIVE POPULATION: Economically active population includes those who worked at least one day during the week prior to the census for the purpose of obtaining an income in kind or in cash, those who were not working but had a job and those who did not have a job but were seeking one.
ECONOMICALLY INACTIVE POPULATION: Includes the population who did not work to obtain and income in kind or in cash during the week prior to the census, who did not have a job, and who were not seeking a job.
LAST WEEK'S OCCUPATION: Is the occupation a person performed during the week prior to the census with the purpose of obtaining and income in kind or in cash.
For those who had more than one occupation during the last week, the one in which they spent most of their time was accepted as their occupation.
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Refers to the status of a person who has a job and is either an "Employee", "Employer", "Self employed" or "Unpaid family worker".
IN OCCUPATION: Is the profession gained by education, training and experience.
Permanent Residence: According to Turkish Civil Code residence is the place that anyone intends to settle.
Internal migration: The residence change between two General Census of population for the ages 5 and permanent residence cloeast include the areas over outside Turkey.
Net migration: The difference between emigration and immigration of any locality. If in migration is more than emigration then ,net migration is positive but if it is less, than the net migration is negative.
