* THE ESTABLISHMENTS WHICH ARE CONSUMED 500 TOE AND MORE ENERGY IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY IN THE YEAR 1995 HAS CONSTITUTED THEIR SUB- STRUCTURE TECHNOLOGY WITH 665 BOILER FIRED WITH THE SOLID FUEL, 1 554 BOILER FIRED WITH LIQUID, 885 BOILER FIRED WITH GASES, 3 542 COMPRESSOR, 600 MILL, 1 618 OVEN, 11 364 DRYER.

* THE ESTABLISHMENTS WHICH ARE CONSUMED 500 TOE AND MORE ENERGY IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY THEIR TOTAL ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN THE YEAR 1992

13 188 925 TOE AND IN THE YEAR 1995 IT BECOMES 13 951 964 TOE ( REFINERIES ENERGY CONSUMPTION IS NOT INCLUDED)

* THE ESTABLISHMENTS WHICH ARE CONSUMED 500 TOE AND MORE ENERGY IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY THEIR ENERGY

CONSUMPTION INCREASE WITH A RATE 5.79 % IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY AS 1204.

* TOTAL NUMBER OF ESTABLISHMENTS WHICH ARE CONSUMED 500 TOE AND MORE ENERGY CONSUMPTION RATE 78.29 % IN THE TOTAL MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY IN THE YEAR 1992 AND THIS RATE DECREASE TO 75.46 % IN THE YEAR 1995.

* THE ESTABLISHMENTS WHICH ARE CONSUMED 500 TOE AND MORE ENERGY IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY SECTORAL DISTRIBUTION IN THE YEAR 1992 LIKE THESE; BASIC METAL INDUSTRIES WITH 37.18 % IN THE FIRST LINE MANUFACTURE OF NON-METALLIC MINERAL PRODUCTS EXCEPT PRODUCTS OF PETROLEUM AND COAL WITH 22.40 % IN THE SECOND LINE, IN THE YEAR 1995 THESE RATE BECOMES; BASIC METAL INDUSTRIES DECREASE TO 36.98 % AND MANUFACTURE OF NON- METALLIC MINERAL PRODUCTS EXCEPT PRODUCTS OF PETROLEUM AND COAL INCREASE TO 26.31 %.

* THE ESTABLISHMENTS WHICH ARE CONSUMED 500 TOE AND MORE ENERGY IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY DISTRIBUTION BY THE CHARACTERISTICS OF FUELS LIKE THESE; 28.24 % HARD- COAL, 28.14 % FUEL- OIL IN THE YEAR 1992; AND IT BECOMES 24.44 % FUEL-OIL AND 21.58 % HARD COAL IN THE YEAR 1995.

* THE ESTABLISHMENTS WHICH ARE CONSUMED 500 TOE AND MORE ENERGY IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY IN THE YEAR 1992, MARMARA WITH 29.55 %, MEDITERRANEAN WITH 28.18 % AND IN THE YEAR 1995 IT BECOMES MARMARA WITH 30.34 % AND BLACK SEA WITH 24. 52 %.


ENERGY CONSUMPTION IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY SURVEY PROVISIONAL RESULTS 1992- 1995

Energy consumption in the manufacturing industry in the year 1992 like these; Basic metal industry with 37.18 %, Non- metallic material products with 22.40 %, Chemical- petroleum, coal and rubber products industry with 18.68 %, food, beverages and tobacco industry with 8.77 %, Textiles industry with 6.73 %. In the year 1995 It becomes; Basic metal industry with 36.98 %, Non- metallic material products with 26.31 %, Chemical- petroleum, coal and rubber products industry with 16.45 %, food, beverages and tobacco industry with 6.91 %, Textiles industry with 7.19 %.

Energy consumption in the manufacturing industry by fuel type in the year 1992 ; fuel oil with a rate 28.14 %, hard coal 28.24 %, lignite 11.87 %, electricity 10.86 %, natural gas 8.68 %, coke 6.46 %. In the year 1995 ; fuel oil 24.44 %, hard coal 21.58 %, lignite 13.10 %, electricity 11.55 %, natural gas 9.75 %, coke 8.31 %.




In the year 1992; energy consumption in the manufacturing industry by geographical regions; Marmara region with 29.95 %, Aegean region with 13.86 %, Mediterranean region with 25.18 %, Black sea with 18.93 %. In the year 1995 these rate become like these; Marmara region with 30.34 %, Black sea with 24.52 %, Aegean region with 13.35 %, Mediterranean region with 19.24 %.

The name of survey energy consumption in the manufacturing industry in the year 1995 also contains the study of sub- structure technology of the establishments. These results explained provisionally food sectors with 743 boiler, 587 compressor, 129 mill, 408 oven and 3 555 dryer it has constituted its sub- structure technology. Basic metallic industry with 620 boiler, 303 compressor, 22 mill, 181 oven and with 24 dryer it has constituted its sub- structure technology.


Appendix_1 : Heating values and tons of oil equivalent conversion factors of energy sources

TONES OF OIL EQUIVALENT (TOE) : Energy consumption calculations are made according to the consumption value of fuel and electricity. Because of there are different energy type and different measurement unit. In order to calculate these differences we must convert them in to a common measurement unit. This common unit is TOE (Tones of Oil Equivalent). Heating values of a one ton of oil equivalent is gives fuels TOE values. Energy fuel has a different heating values since there are different tones of oil equivalent (TOE). By this method it is so easy to calculate energy consumption values.


PURPOSE: To provide a comprehensive assessment of the energy consumption in the manufacturing industry which includes all the manufacturing establishments in the public sector and establishments with 25 or more persons engaged in the private sector.

COVERAGE: All the establishments which are consumed 500 Tones of Oil Equivalent (TOE) and more energy in the manufacturing industry.
