*ELECTRICTY GENERATION IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF THE 1997 INCREASED BY 7.88 % COMPARED WITH THE SECOND QUARTER OF LAST YEAR.
*TURKISH ELECTRCITY GENERATION CORPORATION (TEAŞ) GENERATED 73.2 % OF THE TOTAL ELECTRICITY GENERATION IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF THE YEAR 1996. THIS RATE INCREASED TO 74.1 % IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF THE YEAR 1997.
*WHEN GROSS ELECTRICITY GENERATION BY PRIMARY ENERGY RESOURCES IS EXAMINED THE LARGEST SHARE OF RESOURCES BEING WATER WITH 39.9 %, LIGNITE WITH 30.08 % AND NATURAL GAS WITH 19.28 %.
*WHILE THE TOTAL ELECTRICITY GENERATED WAS CONSUMED MAINLY INDUSTRY WITH 53.17 % AND DWELLINGS WITH 21.07 %, THE FIGURES FOR THE THIRD QUARTER OF THE YEAR 1997 WERE INDUSTRY WITH 54 % AND DWELLINGS WITH % 19.75.
*TOTAL ELECTRICITY CONSUMTION IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF THE YEAR 1997 INCREASED BY % 11.2 COMPARED WITH THE THIRD QUARTER OF THE YEAR 1997 AND REACHED TO 22 188 686 371 KwH.
*ELECTRICTY DISTRIBUTION COMPANIES INCOMES FROM SALES OF ELECTRICITY IN TERMS OF CURRENT PRICES IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF THE YEAR 1997 INCREASED WITH A RATE OF 86.65 % COMPARED WITH THE THIRD QUARTER OF THE YEAR 1996.
The total electricity generation in the third quarters of the years 1996 and 1997 was 24 174.4 and 25 944.7 GWh. respectively. There was a 7.32 % rise in electricity generation in the third quarter of the year 1997 compared with that of year 1996.
While 14 603.7. and 9 570.7 GWh. of electricity was generated in hydro power plants and thermal power plants in the third quarter of the year 1996, the figures for the third quarter of the year 1997 were 16 846.8 and 9 097.9 GWh. respectively. While there was a 15.36 % rise in electricity generation in thermal power plants in 1997 compared with 1996, there was a 4.94 % fall in electricity generation in hydro power plants.

Total electricity generation by production companies in the third quarter of the year 1996; TEAŞ with 73,2%, Autoproducers with 5,8 %, concessionaire companies with 1,9 %, production companies with 0,5 %, privatization administration with 18,5 %; these rates for the third quarter of the year 1997 were TEAŞ with 74,1 %, Autoproducers with 8,3 %, concessionaire companies with 1,9 %, production companies with 2,3 % and privatization administration with 13,4 % and Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
Gross Electricity Generation by energy resourcesin the Third quarter of the year 1996; water 39.59 %, lignite 30.08 %, natural gas 19.28 %, fuel-oil 6.62 %, hard coal 3.36 % and others 1.07 %.
Gross Electricity Generation by energy resources in the Third quarter of the year 1997; water 35.07 %, lignite 32.35 %, natural gas 21.92 %, fuel-oil 6.33 %, hard coal 3.43 % and others 0.90 %.
Electricity consumption by using areas in the first quarter of the year 1996; public establishments 5.98 %, Industry + Autoproducers 53.17 %, dwellings 21.07 %, street illumination 2.99 %, construction 0.74 %, agricultural irrigation 2.76 %, trading establishments 7.67 % and others 5.63 ( TEAŞ direct sales are included.)
These rates for the third quarter of the year 1997, public establishments 5.91 %, Industry + Auto-producers 54.00 %, dwellings 19.75 %, street illumination 3.09 %, construction 0.95 %, agricultural irrigation 2.80 %, trading establishments 8.83 % and others 4.66 (TEAŞ direct sales are included)
