According to the official statement made by State Institute of Statistics, Gross National Product figure for the first quarter of 1997 is "4 180 203 663 Million Turkish Liras in current prices" and it is " 21 979 825 Million Turkish Liras in real terms ". The real growth rate is 5,7 %, while current growth rate is 87,3 %.
It was stated that the old Gross National Product figure for 1996 was also revised by using new figure of Central Bank for net factor income from the rest of the world. Due to the change of Central Bank figure for net factor income from the rest of the world Gross National Product for 1996 was estimated as 15 064 360.5 billion Turkish Liras in current prices and 106 405.7 billion Turkish Liras in 1987 constant prices. Current growth rate is 91,8 % whereas it is 7,4 % in 1987 constant prices. Gross Nati onal Product per capita in 1996 is 240 272 430 Turkish Liras in current prices, resulting 2 916 $ per capita income
According to the results of Gross Domestic Product estimates by cost components for 1996, the share of compensation of employees in Gross Domestic Product is 24,2 % and the share of operating surplus is 60,7 % annual growth rate of compensation of emp loyees in current prices is 109,1 % and it is 88,5 % for operating surplus.
