ANNOUNCED THE GROSS NATIONAL PRODUCT ESTIMATES
FOR THE FOURTH QUARTER OF 1997
AND
THE GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT ESTIMATES
BY EXPENDITURE APPROACH FOR THE FIRST, SECOND
AND THIRD OF 1997
According to official statement made by State Institute of Statistics, Gross National Product
figure for the fourth quarter of 1997 is “9 469 081 Billion Turkish Liras in current prices” and it is
“28 327 Billion Turkish Liras in real terms”. The real growth rate is 7.7%, while current growth
97.2%.
Gross National Product of 1997 yearly is “29 694 889 Billion Turkish Liras in
current prices and 114 595 Billion Turkish Liras in 1987 constant prices”. Current growth rate is
98.3%, whereas it is 8.0% in 1987 constant prices.
I- Quarterly growth rate of sectors in the first, second, third and fourth quarters of 1997
compared to the same quarter of previous year.
II- Growth rate of expenditure groups, compared to the same quarter of previous year, in first, second
and third quarters of 1997.
