According to official statement made by State Institute of Statistics, it was stated that Gross Domestic Product figures by statistical regions and provinces is calculated by current prices and constant prices (at 1987 prices).STATE INSTITUTE OF STATISTICS
ANNOUNCED GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT RESULTS BY STATISTICAL REGIONS AND PROVINCES FOR 2001
Classification of statistical regional units have been made according to regulation no 2002/4720 of 28.08.2002, in order to compile and improve regional statistics, analyze socio-economic structure of regions, determine regional policies and constitute statistical database which is compliance with European Union System. Three regional level is constituted by this classification. First level is formed by 12 statistical regions, the second level is formed by 26 statistical regions and the third one is formed by 81 statistical regions. The list of this regions is given in Annex 1.
Statistical regions are established to determine contribution of regions and provinces in Turkish Economy by kind of activities. GDP tables for 2001 by statistical regions and per capita in current prices and constant prices (at 1987 prices) are given .
