ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, INCREASED FROM 79.8 % IN OCTOBER OF 1997 TO 80.5 % IN OCTOBER OF 1998, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 627 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.
Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous year is summarized below;


A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in October of 1998, expectation and in November of 1998 about production, sales, prices and stocks.

When the weighted average view of the establishments for October of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year, establishments have thought that their production inreased, domestic sales, sale prices and raw material prices decreased.
When the weighted average expectation of the same establishments for November of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year establishments have thought that their production and sale prices will increase, domestic sales and raw material will decrease.

While answer of increasing was 43.3 % and decreasing was 36.8 % in October of 1997,in October of 1998
answer of increasing is 41.2 % and decreasing is 38.1 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 37.7 % and decreasing expectation was 25.0 % in November of
1997, in November of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 36.6 % and decreasing expectation is 32.4 %
Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;
While answer of increasing was 30.2 % and decreasing was 50.8 % in October of 1997,
in October of 1998 answer of increasing is 34.1 % and decreasing is 47.1 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 42.7 % and decreasing expectation was 16.1 % in
November of 1997, in November of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 37.2 % and decreasing
expectation is 29.0 %

While answer of increasing was 74.1 % and decreasing was 1.4 % in October of 1997
