SALES, STOCKS AND PRICES FOR THE RELATION IN DECEMBER OF 1998 AND
EXPECTATION IN JANUARY OF 1999

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, DECREASED FROM 78.8 % IN DECEMBER OF 1997 TO 74.2 % IN DECEMBER OF 1998, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 576 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.
Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous year is summarized below;
A general evaluation has done in the written explanation
on the view of establishments for the present situation in
December of 1998, expectation and in January of 1999
about production, sales, prices and stocks.
At the evaluation;
When the weighted average view of the establishments for December of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year, establishments have thought that their production and domestic sales, sale prices and raw material prices decreased.
When the weighted average expectation of the same establishments for January of 1999 compare to the same month of the previous year establishments have thought that their production, domestic sales will increased , sale prices and raw material prices will decrease.
Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;
While answer of increasing was 37.5
% and decreasing was 38.3
% in December of 1997, in December of 1998 answer
of increasing is 40.7 % and decreasing is
39.0 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 28.3 % and decreasing
expectation was 27.7 % in January of 1998, in January of 1999,
answer of increasing expectation is 33.1 % and decreasing expectation is
35.7 %
Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;
While answer of increasing was 41.2 % and decreasing was 39.8 % in December of 1997, in December of 1998 answer of increasing is 31.5 % and decreasing is 52.2 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 37.8 % and decreasing expectation was 22.8 % in January of 1998, in January of 1999 answer of increasing expectation is 37.7 % and decreasing expectation is 31.7 %
Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;
While answer of increasing was 71.1 % and decreasing was 1.9 % in December of 1997, in December of 1998, answer of increasing is 38.8 % and decreasing is 19.8 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 49.5 %, decreasing expectation was 0.5 % in January of 1998, in January of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 43.5 % and decreasing expectation is 1.2 %
