PRODUCTION, SALES, STOCKS AND PRICES FOR THE RELATION IN SEPTEMBER
OF 1998 AND EXPECTATION IN OCTOBER OF 1998

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, INCREASED FROM 86.6 % IN SEPTEMBER OF 1997 TO 82.8 % IN SEPTEMBER OF 1998, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 616 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.


Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous year is summarized below;




A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in September of 1998, expectation and in October of 1998 about production, sales, prices and stocks.


At the evaluation;


When the weighted average view of the establishments for September of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year, establishments have thought that their production and domestic sales decreased, sale prices increased, raw material prices decreased.

When the weighted average expectation of the same establishments for October of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year establishments have thought that their production and domestic sales will increase, raw material and sale prices will decrease.


Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

While answer of increasing was 65.9 % and decreasing was 17.6 % in September of 1997,
in September of 1998 answer of increasing is 54.8 % and decreasing is 31.1 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 45.7 % and decreasing expectation was 22.6 % in
October of 1997, in October of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 41.0 % and decreasing
expectation is 24.9 %


Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

While answer of increasing was 39.6 % and decreasing was 43.5 % in September of 1997,
in September of 1998 answer of increasing is 45.6 % and decreasing is 33.4 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 30.2 % and decreasing expectation was 41.1 % in
October of 1997, in October of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 28.2 % and decreasing
expectation is 39.3 %


Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

While answer of increasing was 44.8 % and decreasing was 1.9 % in September of 1997
in September of 1998, answer of increasing is 61.7 % and decreasing is 3.3 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 57.9 % and decreasing expectation was 0.5 % in
October of 1997, in October of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 50.5 % and decreasing
expectation is 2.3 %


Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

While answer of increasing was 64.2 % and decreasing was 15.7 % in September of 1997,
in September of 1998, answer of increasing is 64.6 % and decreasing is 5.8 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 63.2 % and decreasing expectation was 0.3 % in
October of 1997, in October of 1998 answer of increasing expectation is 48.2 % and decreasing
expectation is 4.6 %
