EXPLAINED THE RESULT OF THE MONTHLY TENDENCY SURVEY WHICH REFLECT VIEW OF THE ESTABLISHMENTS IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY ABOUT PRODUCTION, SALES, STOCKS AND PRICES FOR THE RELATION IN  JANUARY OF 1999 AND EXPECTATION  IN  FEBRUARY OF 1999

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, DECREASED FROM  75.8 % IN JANUARY OF 1998 TO 71.3 % IN JANUARY OF 1999, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 550 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.

Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous year is summarized below;


    A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in January of 1999, expectation and in February of 1999 about production, sales, prices and stocks.

At the evaluation;

    When the weighted average view of the establishments for  January of 1999 compare to the same month of the previous year, establishments have thought that their production and raw material prices increased,  domestic sales and sale prices  decreased.

    When the weighted average expectation of the same establishments for  February of 1999 compare to the same month of the previous year  establishments have thought that their production, domestic sales will increased ,  sale prices  and  raw material  prices will decrease.
 

Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

    While  answer  of  increasing  was   14.5  %  and  decreasing   was   54.8   %  in  January of  1998, in January  of 1999 answer of increasing  is  26.3  % and decreasing  is  58.5  %
 
    While answer of increasing expectation was  48.0  % and decreasing expectation was  20.7 % in February  of 1998, in February of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 44.6 % and decreasing expectation is  17.0  %

Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

    While  answer  of  increasing  was  9.0  %  and  decreasing   was   72.3   %  in January of  1998, in January of 1999 answer of increasing is 21.8  %  and decreasing is 64.7 %

    While answer of increasing expectation was  65.1  % and decreasing expectation was  4.9 % in February of 1998, in February of 1999 answer of increasing expectation is 61.9 % and decreasing expectation is  9.4 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

    While  answer   of   increasing   was  40.5    %  and   decreasing  was  1.9  %  in January of  1998, in January of 1999, answer of increasing is  58.3  % and decreasing is  5.6  %

    While  answer  of  increasing expectation was  36.7   %,  decreasing  expectation was 1.1 % in  February of 1998, in February of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is  39.1  % and decreasing expectation is   3.5 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

    While  answer  of  increasing   was  59.5   %  and  decreasing  was  11.2  %  in January  of   1998, in January   of 1999, answer of increasing  is  71.2  % and decreasing is  5.6  %

    While answer of increasing expectation was 59.5  %  and decreasing expectation was 1.0 % in February of  1998, in February of 1999 answer of increasing expectation is 53.9 % and decreasing expectation  is  0.8 %
