PRODUCTION, SALES, STOCKS AND PRICES FOR THE RELATION IN FEBRUARY
OF 1999 AND EXPECTATION IN MARCH OF 1999

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT
IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, DECREASED FROM 78.1 % IN FEBRUARY OF 1998 TO 71.3 %
IN FEBRUARY OF 1999, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 569 LARGE SCALE
MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.

Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous year is summarized below;


A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in February of 1999, expectation and in Maarch of 1999 about production, sales, prices and stocks.

At the evaluation;

When the weighted average view of the establishments for February of 1999 compare to the same month of the previous year, establishments have thought that their production and sale prices increased, domestic sales and raw material prices decreased.

When the weighted average expectation of the same establishments for December of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year establishments have thought that their production and raw material prices will decrease, domastic sales and sale prices will increase.

Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

While answer of increasing was 43.2 % and decreasing was 37.3 % in February of 1998, in February of 1999
answer of increasing is 43.8 % and decreasing is 41.3 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 59.0 % and decreasing expectation was 12.4 % in March of 1998,
in March of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 60.6 % and decreasing expectation is 8.8 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

While answer of increasing was 58.0 % and decreasing was 24.7 % in February of 1998, in February of 1999
answer of increasing is 46.8 % and decreasing is 35.8 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 61.1 % and decreasing expectation was 9.8 % in March of 1998,
in March of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 60.9 % and decreasing expectation is 3.9 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

While answer of increasing was 41.3 % and decreasing was 3.7 % in February of 1998 in February of 1999,
answer of increasing is 57.0 % and decreasing is 5.8 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 45.1 %, and decreasing expectation was 2.1 % in March of 1998,
in March of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 51.3 and decreasing expectation is 0.7 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

While answer of increasing was 65.9 % and decreasing was 3.0 % in February of 1998, in February of 1999,
answer of increasing is 66.2 % and decreasing is 7.1 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 54.8 % and decreasing expectation was 1.3 % in March of 1998,
in March of 1999 answer of increasing expectation is 55.4 % and decreasing expectation is 1.3 %
