STOCKS AND PRICES FOR THE RELATION IN MAY OF 1999 AND EXPECTATION
IN JUNE OF 1999

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS,
RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, INCREASED
FROM 82.1 % IN MAY OF 1998 TO 77.9 % IN MAY OF 1999, FROM THE PRIMARILY
PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 619 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.
Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same
month of the previous year is summarized below;
A general evaluation has done in the written explanation
on the view of establishments for the present situation in May of 1999,
expectation and in June of 1999 about production, sales, prices and stocks.
At the evaluation;
When the weighted average view of the establishments for May of 1999 compare to the same month of the previous year, establishments have thought that their production and domestic sales decreased, sale prices is the same and raw material prices decreased .
When the weighted average expectation of the same establishments for June of 1999 compare to the same month of the previous year establishments have thought that their production and domestic sales will increased, sale prices and raw material prices will decreased.
Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;
While answer of increasing was 59.5
% and decreasing was 17.4
% in May of 1998, in May of 1999 answer of increasing
is 55.9 % and decreasing is 26.4 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 38.4 % and decreasing expectation
was 25.8 % in June of 1998, in June of 1999 answer of increasing
expectation is 46.7 % and decreasing expectation is 18.5 %
Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;
While answer of increasing was 51.8 % and decreasing was 27.9 % in Mayl of 1998, in May of 1999 answer of increasing is 49.4 % and decreasing is 30.5 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 48.9 % and decreasing expectation was 15.4 % in June of 1998, in June of 1999 answer of increasing expectation is 42.5 % and decreasing expectation is 20.3 %
Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;
While answer of increasing was 62.2 % and decreasing was 4.1 % in May of 1998, in May of 1999, answer of increasing is 71.0 % and decreasing is 1.2 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 58.8 %, decreasing expectation was 0.2 % in June of 1998, in June of 1999 answer of increasing expectation is 54.0 % and decreasing expectation is 1.2 %
Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;
While answer of increasing was 61.4 % and decreasing was 4.5 % in May of 1998, in May of 1999, answer of increasing is 75.6 % and decreasing is 1.4 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 61.2 % and decreasing expectation was 1.1 % in June of 1998, in June of 1999 answer of increasing expectation is 59.1 % and decreasing expectation is 0.7 %.
