ABOUT PRODUCTION, SALES, STOCKS AND PRICES FOR THE RELATION IN
AUGUST OF 1998 AND EXPECTATION IN SEPTEMBER OF 1998

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE,DECREASED FROM 82.1 % IN AUGUST OF 1997 TO 80.7 % IN AUGUST OF 1998,FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 619 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.

Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous year is summarized below; in August

 

A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in August of 1998, expectation and in September of 1998 about production, sales, prices and stocks.

At the evaluation;

When the weighted average view of the establishments for August of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year, establishments have thought that their production, domestic sales increased, sale prices and raw material prices decreased.

When the weighted average expectation of the same establishments for September of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year establishments have thought that their production and domestic sales, raw material and sale prices will decrease.

Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

While answer of increasing was 34.5 % and decreasing was 41.9 % in August of 1997,
in August of 1998 answer of increasing is 44.7 % and decreasing is 34.0 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 60.4 % and decreasing expectation was 13.8 % in
September of 1997, in September of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 56.3 % and decreasing
expectation is 9.3 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

While answer of increasing was 37.1 % and decreasing was 40.2 % in August of 1997,
in August of 1998 answer of increasing is 41.6 % and decreasing is 34.4 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 62.7 % and decreasing expectation was 7.3 %
in September of 1997, in September of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 46.4 % and decreasing
expectation is 17.7 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

While answer of increasing was 81.2 % and decreasing was 1.6 % in August of 1997,
in August of 1998, answer of increasing is 49.2 % and decreasing is 13.7 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 69.8 % and decreasing expectation was 0.3 % in
September of 1997,in September of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 45.0 % and decreasing
expectation is 2.0 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

While answer of increasing was 78.4 % and decreasing was 1.2 % in August of 1997,
in August of 1998, answer of increasing is 66.2 % and decreasing is 1.3 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 76.2 % and decreasing expectation was 1.6 % in
September of 1997, in September of 1998 answer of increasing expectation is 59.9 % and decreasing
expectation is 2.1 %
