ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, INCREASED FROM 79.9 % IN DECEMBER OF 1996 TO 79.3 % IN DECEMBER OF 1997, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 518 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.
Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous year is summarized below;


A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in December of 1997, expectation and in January of 1998 about production, sales, prices and stocks.

When the weighted average view of the establishments for December of 1997 compare to the same month of the previous year, establishments have thought that their production, domestic sales, sale prices and raw material prices increase.
When the weighted average expectation of the same establishments for January of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year establishments have thought that their production, domestic sales will decrease, sale prices and raw material will increase.

While answer of increasing was 39.1 % and decreasing was 39.5 % in December of 1996, in December of 1997, answer of increasing is 39.0 % and decreasing is 32.7 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 32.2 % and decreasing expectation was 30.2 % in January of 1997, in January of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 26.8 % and decreasing expectation is 26.1 %
Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;
While answer of increasing was 31.1 % and decreasing was 51.8 % in December of 1996, in December of 1997, answer of increasing is 42.9 % and decreasing is 33.2 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 30.5 % and decreasing expectation was 32.2 % in January of 1997, in January of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 32.3 % and decreasing expectation is 23.3 %

While answer of increasing was 46.0 % and decreasing was 0.5 % in December of 1996, in December of 1997, answer of increasing is 63.9 % and decreasing is 2.9 %
