ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, INCREASED FROM 80.8 % IN MARCH OF 1997 TO 80.7 % IN MARCH OF 1998, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 571 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.
Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous year is summarized below;


A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in March of 1998, expectation and in April of 1998 about production, sales, prices and stocks.
At the evaluation;
When the weighted average view of the establishments for March of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year, establishments have thought that their production, domestic sales increase, sale prices and raw material prices decrease.
When the weighted average expectation of the same establishments for April of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year establishments have thought that their production will increase, domestic sales, raw material and sale prices will decrease.
Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;
While answer of increasing was 74.8 % and decreasing was 8.5 % in March of 1997,
in March of 1998 answer of increasing is 62.0 % and decreasing is 20.4 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 25.3 % and decreasing expectation was 27.1 % in
April of 1997, in April of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 32.5 % and decreasing
expectation is 26.7 %
Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;
While answer of increasing was 78.0 % and decreasing was 6.8 % in March of 1997,
in March of 1998 answer of increasing is 59.2 % and decreasing is 24.1 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 37.8 % and decreasing expectation was 24.9 %
in April of 1997, in April of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 48.0 % and decreasing
expectation is 21.1 %
Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;
While answer of increasing was 76.1 % and decreasing was 0.6 % in March of 1997,
in March of 1998, answer of increasing is 38.1 % and decreasing is 2.3 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 56.9 % and decreasing expectation was 0.2 % in
April of 1997,in April of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 35.3 and decrease
expectation is 0.6 %

While answer of increasing was 72.4 % and decreasing was 9.5 % in March of 1997,
in March of 1998, answer of increasing is 71.8 % and decreasing is 2.7 %
