EXPLAINED THE RESULT OF THE MONTHLY TENDENCY SURVEY WHICH REFLECT VIEW OF THE ESTABLISHMENTS IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY ABOUT PRODUCTION, SALES,  STOCKS  AND PRICES  FOR  THE  REALISATION  IN  FEBRUARY OF  2003 AND EXPECTATION  IN  MARCH OF  2003

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY   UTILISATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, INCREASED FROM  71.0 % IN  FEBRUARY OF 2002 TO 72.2 % IN FEBRUARY OF 2003, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULTS OF 774  LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.


        Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous year is summarized below;


        A  general  evaluation  has  done in  the  written explanation on  the view of establishments for the present situation in February of  2003, expectation in March of  2003 about production, domestic sales, sale and raw material prices.

        When the weighted average view of  the establishments  for February of  2003 compared  to the same month of the previous year, establishments have thought that their production and domestic sales decreased, raw material prices and sale prices increased.

        When  the  weighted  average expectation of  the  same  establishments  for March of 2003 compared  to the same month of the previous year  establishments have thought that their production and  domestic sales will decrease, sale prices  and raw material  prices will increase.

    Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

        While answer of  increasing was  31,8  % and decreasing was 51,2  %  in February  of  2002,
        in February of 2003  answer  of  increasing  is 35,2  %  and  decreasing  is  51,6 %.

        While answer of increasing expectation was 54,0 % and decreasing expectation was 15,6 % in March of 2002,
        in March  of 2003 answer of increasing expectation is 51,5 % and decreasing expectation is 23,1 %.

    Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

        While answer of  increasing was  32,1  % and decreasing was 50,0 %  in February  of  2002,
        in February of 2003  answer  of  increasing  is 16,5  %  and  decreasing  is  68,9  %.

        While answer of increasing expectation was 61,1 % and decreasing expectation was 6,9 % in March of 2002,
        in March of 2003 answer of increasing expectation is 53,6 % and decreasing expectation is 16,6 %.

    Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

        While answer of  increasing was 43,5  % and decreasing was 9,9 %  in February of  2002,
        in February of 2003  answer  of  increasing  is 55,3  %  and  decreasing  is  6,7  %.

        While answer of increasing expectation was 30,8 % and decreasing expectation was 0,9 % in March of 2002,
        in March of 2003 answer of increasing expectation is 53,1 % and decreasing expectation is 0,3 %.

    Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

        While answer of  increasing was  38,5  % and decreasing was 4,4 %  in February of  2002,
        in February of 2003  answer  of  increasing  is 66,2  %  and  decreasing  is  3,2  %.

        While answer of increasing expectation was 33,6 % and decreasing expectation was 10,7  % in March of 2002,
        in March of 2003 answer of increasing expectation is 34,7 % and decreasing expectation is 0,5 %.
