                PRESIDENT OF THE STATE INSTITUTE OF STATISTICS
   EXPLAINED THE RESULT OF THE MONTHLY TENDENCY SURVEY WHICH
 REFLECT VIEW OF THE ESTABLISHMENTS IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY
ABOUT PRODUCTION, SALES,  STOCKS  AND PRICES  FOR  THE  REALISATION
         IN  OCTOBER OF  2002 AND EXPECTATION  IN  NOVEMBER OF  2002
                                            (Production  -  Sales  -  Prices)

               ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF
CAPACITY   UTILISATION   THAT  IS   WEIGHTED    BY    PRODUCTION    VALUE,
INCREASED FROM 74.0 % IN OCTOBER OF 2001 TO 80.6 % IN OCTOBER OF 2002,
FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULTS OF 835  LARGE SCALE
MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.

         Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous
year is summarized below;



 

             A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present
situation in October of  2002, expectation in November of  2002 about production, domestic sales, sale and
raw material prices.

At the evaluation;

         When the weighted average view of the establishments for October of  2002 compared  to the same
month of  the previous  year,  establishments  have thought that their production decreased, domestic sales
increased, sale prices decreased and raw material prices  did not change.

       When the weighted average expectation of the same establishments for November of 2002 compared
to the same  month of the previous year  establishments  have  thought  that  their  production and domestic
sales will decrease, sale prices and raw material  prices will decrease.

Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

While answer of  increasing was  46.5  % and decreasing was 36.5 %  in October  of  2001,
in October of 2002  answer  of  increasing  is 37.4  %  and  decreasing  is  43.9  %

While answer of increasing expectation was 31.7 % and decreasing expectation was 36.0 % in November of 2001,
in November  of 2002 answer of increasing expectation is 45.2 % and decreasing expectation is 20.7 %.

Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

While answer of  increasing was  38.4  % and decreasing was 43.4 %  in October  of  2001,
in October of 2002  answer  of  increasing  is 32.4  %  and  decreasing  is  41.6  %

While answer of increasing expectation was 30.6 % and decreasing expectation was 38.1 % in November of 2001,
in November  of 2002 answer of increasing expectation is 36.4 % and decreasing expectation is 27.2 %.

Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

While answer of  increasing was  59.5  % and decreasing was 11.3 %  in October  of  2001,
in October of 2002  answer  of  increasing  is 52.4  %  and  decreasing  is  3.3  %

While answer of increasing expectation was 42.6 % and decreasing expectation was 8.9 % in November of 2001,
in November  of 2002 answer of increasing expectation is 22.4 % and decreasing expectation is 15.7 %.

Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

While answer of  increasing was  56.5  % and decreasing was 17.4 %  in October  of  2001,
in October of 2002  answer  of  increasing  is 39.7  %  and  decreasing  is  21.8  %

While answer of increasing expectation was 51.1 % and decreasing expectation was 7.0 % in November of 2001,
in November  of 2002 answer of increasing expectation is 33.0 % and decreasing expectation is 11.5 %.
