SALES, STOCKS AND PRICES FOR THE REALISATION
IN APRIL OF 2002 AND EXPECTATION IN MAY OF
2002

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILISATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, INCREASED FROM 68.5 % IN APRIL OF 2001 TO 74.0 % IN APRIL OF 2002, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 871 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.
Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous year is summarized below;

At the evaluation;
When the weighted average view
of the establishments for April of 2002 compare
to the same month of the
previous year, establishments have thought that their production
and domestic sales increased, sale prices and raw
material prices decreased.
When the weighted average expectation of the same
establishments for May of 2002 compare to the same month
of the previous year establishments
have thought that their production and domestic
sales will decreased, sale
prices and raw material prices will decreased.
Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;
While answer of increasing was 37.0 % and decreasing
was 46.4 % in April of 2001,
in April of 2002 answer of increasing
is 28.0 % and decreasing is 48.7
%.
While answer of increasing expectation was 48.4 % and decreasing expectation
was 11.1 % in May of 2001,
in May of 2002 answer of increasing expectation is 46.6 % and decreasing
expectation is 18.9 %.
Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;
While answer of increasing was 36.9 % and decreasing was 43.3
% in April of 2001,
in April of 2002 answer of increasing is 35.8
% and decreasing is 42.8 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 46.1 % and decreasing expectation
was, 10.6 % in May of 2001,
in May of 2002 answer of increasing expectation is 47.7 % and
decreasing expectation is 14.7 %
Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;
While answer of increasing was 70.4 % and decreasing was
7.4 % in April of 2001,
in April of 2002, answer of increasing is 49.8
% and decreasing is 5.5 %
While answer of increasing expectation was 53.2 %, decreasing
expectation was 3.0 % in May of 2001,
in May of 2002 answer of increasing expectation is 46.3
% and decreasing expectation is 2.4 %

While answer of increasing was 72.0 % and decreasing was
1.2 % in April of 2001,
in April of 2002, answer of increasing is
41.7 % and decreasing is 14.2 %.
