IN JANUARY OF 2003 AND EXPECTATION IN FEBRUARY
OF 2003

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILISATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, INCREASED FROM 73.9 % IN JANUARY OF 2002 TO 75.3 % IN JANUARY OF 2003, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULTS OF 732 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.
Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous year is summarized below;
A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in January of 2003, expectation in February of 2003 about production, domestic sales, sale and raw material prices.
At the evaluation;
When the weighted average view of the establishments for January
of 2003 compared to the same month of the previous year, establishments
have thought that their production decreased, domestic sales, raw material
prices and sale prices increased.
When the weighted average expectation of the same establishments for February of 2003 compared to the same month of the previous year establishments have thought that their production and domestic sales will decrease, sale prices will increase and raw material prices will decrease.
Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;
While answer of increasing was 36,8 % and decreasing
was 46,2 % in January of 2002,
in January of 2003 answer of increasing is
41,7 % and decreasing is 41,7 %.
While answer of increasing expectation was 21,4 % and decreasing expectation
was 43,2 % in February of 2002,
in February of 2003 answer of increasing expectation is 17,7
% and decreasing expectation is 53,7 %.
Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;
While answer of increasing was 41,9 % and decreasing
was 40,9 % in January of 2002,
in January of 2003 answer of increasing is
31,7 % and decreasing is 52,3 %.
While answer of increasing expectation was 37,9 % and decreasing expectation
was 26,1 % in February of 2002,
in February of 2003 answer of increasing expectation is 17,2 % and
decreasing expectation is 54,3 %.
Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;
While answer of increasing was 45,8 % and decreasing was
14,9 % in January of 2002,
in January of 2003 answer of increasing is
62,8 % and decreasing is 6,4 %.
While answer of increasing expectation was 40,1 % and decreasing expectation
was 1,3 % in February of 2002,
in February of 2003 answer of increasing expectation is 59,1 % and
decreasing expectation is 0,2 %.

While answer of increasing was 36,9 % and decreasing
was 30,2 % in January of 2002,
in January of 2003 answer of increasing is
70,3 % and decreasing is 0,7 %.
While answer of increasing expectation was 48,3 % and decreasing expectation
was 1,0 % in February of 2002,
in February of 2003 answer of increasing expectation is 48,4 % and
decreasing expectation is 1,9 %.
