JUNE OF 1998 AND EXPECTATION IN JULY OF 1998

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE,DECREASED FROM 81.0 % IN JUNE OF 1997 TO 74.9 % IN JUNE OF 1998,FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 651 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.


Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same month of the previous year is summarized below; in June




A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in June of 1998, expectation and in July of 1998 about production, sales, prices and stocks.


At the evaluation;


When the weighted average view of the establishments for June of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year, establishments have thought that their production, domestic sales, sale prices and raw material prices decreased.

When the weighted average expectation of the same establishments for July of 1998 compare to the same month of the previous year establishments have thought that their production and domestic sales will increase, raw material and sale prices will decrease.


Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

While answer of increasing was 34.0 % and decreasing was 41.8 % in June of 1997,
in June of 1998 answer of increasing is 27.6 % and decreasing is 45.3 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 51.0 % and decreasing expectation was 14.4 % in
July of 1997, in July of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 45.4 % and decreasing
expectation is 21.7 %


Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

While answer of increasing was 41.2 % and decreasing was 39.6 % in June of 1997,
in June of 1998 answer of increasing is 34.5 % and decreasing is 45.3 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 46.3 % and decreasing expectation was 20.1 %
in July of 1997, in July of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 44.3 % and decreasing
expectation is 23.1 %


Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

While answer of increasing was 73.2 % and decreasing was 1.1 % in June of 1997,
in June of 1998, answer of increasing is 59.3 % and decreasing is 1.6 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 68.8 % and decreasing expectation was 0.3 % in
July of 1997,in July of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 53.9 and decrease
expectation is 1.8 %


Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

While answer of increasing was 79.1 % and decreasing was 0.3 % in June of 1997,
in June of 1998, answer of increasing is 51.5 % and decreasing is 5.4 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 77.1 % and decreasing expectation was 0.8 % in
July of 1997, in July of 1998 answer of increasing expectation is 53.5 % and decreasing
expectation is 0.5 %
