PRESIDENT OF THE STATE INSTITUTE OF STATISTICS EXPLAINED
THE RESULT OF THE QUARTERLY TENDENCY SURVEY WHICH REFLECT VIEW OF THE       ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY ON PRODUCTION, SALES, STOCKS        AND PRICES FOR THE REALISATION IN  THE THIRD QUARTER
 ( JULY - AUGUST - SEPTEMBER )  OF  2001  AND  EXPECTATION   FOR   THE   FOURTH         QUARTER  ( OCTOBER - NOVEMBER - DECEMBER )  OF  2001

 
ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, DECREASED FROM 76.6 % IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF 2000 TO  71.6 %  IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF 2001, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 2300 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.
    Comparison  of  the  reasons   for  not  working  in  full  capacity  to  the  same  quarter  of the previous year is summarized below;

                      
            

A general  evaluation has done in the written explanation on  the view of establishments for the present situation in the  third  quarter of  2001 and  expectation in the fourth quarter of 2001 about production, domestic sales, sales prices and raw material prices.

At the evaluation;
Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

While answer of  increasing was  52.6 %  and decreasing was 31.7 %  in the third quarter  of 2000,  in the same quarter of 2001, answer of increasing is 44.8 % and decreasing is  41.9 %

While answer  of increasing expectation was  52.4 % and decreasing expectation was 18.1 %  in the fourth quarter of  2000, in the same  quarter of  2001, answer of increasing expectation is 43.4 % and decreasing expectation is 29.9  %

Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

While answer of  increasing was  52.3 %  and decreasing was 31.4  %  in the third quarter of 2000,  in the same quarter of 2001, answer of increasing is 50.5  % and decreasing is 32.0 %

While answer of increasing expectation was  48.4 %  and  decreasing expectation was 18.5 % in the fourth quarter of 2000,   in  the same quarter of 2001, answer of increasing expectation is 47.2 % and decreasing expectation is 22.7 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

While answer of increasing was 70.5 % and decreasing was 3.6 % in the third quarter of 2000, in the same quarter of 2001, answer of increasing is  71.7 % and decreasing is 12.6 %

While answer of increasing expectation was  62.0  %  and  decreasing  expectation was 0.9 % in the fourth quarter of 2000,  in the same quarter of 2001,  answer of increasing expectation is 71.8 %  and decreasing expectation is 2.3 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

While answer of increasing was  74.8 %  and  decreasing was  2.9 %  in the third  quarter  of  2000, in the same quarter of 2001, answer of increasing is  79.2 % and decreasing is 6.6 %

While answer of increasing expectation was  70.7 %  and  decreasing expectation was  1.0 % in the fourth quarter of  2000, in the same quarter of 2001, answer of increasing expectation is 72.6 %  and decreasing expectation is   0.8  %
