PRESIDENT OF THE STATE INSTITUTE OF STATISTICS EXPLAINED
 THE RESULT OF THE QUARTERLY TENDENCY SURVEY WHICH REFLECT VIEW OF THE ESTABLISHMENTS IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY ON PRODUCTION, SALES, STOCKS AND PRICES FOR THE REALISATION IN  THE SECOND QUARTER
( APRIL - MAY - JUNE ) OF 1999 AND EXPECTATION FOR THE THIRD QUARTER
( JULY - AUGUST - SEPTEMBER ) OF 1999

ACCORDING  TO  THE  STATEMENT  OF  THE  PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, DECREASED FROM 76.1 % IN  THE SECOND QUARTER OF 1998 TO  75.5  %  IN SECOND QUARTER OF 1999, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 1770 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.

Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same quarter of the previous year is summarized below;


    A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in the second quarter 1999 and  expectation in the third quarter of 1999 about production, sales, prices and stocks.
 

At the evaluation;
Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

While answer of increasing was  54.7 % and decreasing was 26.7 % in the second quarter  of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing is 64.1 % and decreasing is 16.2 %.

While answer of increasing expectation was 47.0 % and decreasing expectation was 20.5 % in the third  quarter of 1998, in the same  quarter of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 59.7 % and decreasing expectation is  13.7  %.

Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

While answer of  increasing was  48.4 % and decreasing was 34.8  % in the second quarter  of 1998,in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing is 64.7  % and decreasing is 22.4 %.

While answer of increasing expectation was  60.3 % and decreasing expectation was  11.7 % in the third  quarter of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 52.8 % and decreasing expectation is 17.6 %.

Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

While answer of increasing was  76.6 % and decreasing was 3.8 % in the second  quarter  of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing is 79.3 % and decreasing is 2.5 %.

While answer of increasing expectation was   75.0  % and decreasing  expectation was  3.8 % in the third  quarter of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 67.8 % and decreasing expectation is 1.8 %.

Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

While answer of increasing was  77.8 % and decreasing was 4.1 % in the second  quarter  of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing is  80.1 % and decreasing is 2.3 %.

While answer of increasing expectation was   81.0 % and decreasing expectation was 1.0 % in the third quarter of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 71.3 % and decreasing expectation is 1.5 %.
