PRESIDENT OF THE STATE INSTITUTE OF STATISTICS EXPLAINED
THE RESULT OF THE QUARTERLY TENDENCY SURVEY WHICH REFLECT VIEW OF THE ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY ON PRODUCTION, SALES, STOCKS AND PRICES FOR THE REALISATION IN  THE THIRD QUARTER
( JULY - AUGUST - SEPTEMBER )  OF  2002  AND  EXPECTATION   FOR   THE   FOURTH  QUARTER
 ( OCTOBER-NOVEMBER-DECEMBER )  OF  2002

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, INCREASED FROM 71.1 % IN  THE THIRD  QUARTER OF 2001 TO  77.5 %  IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF 2002, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 2199 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.
 

Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same quarter of the previous year is summarized below;

        A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in

the third quarter of 2002 and expectation in the fourth quarter of 2002 about production, domestic sales, sales prices and
raw material prices.
 

    At the evaluation;
    Percentage distrubitions of establishments on production are;

    While  answer  of  increasing was  43.4 % and decreasing was  43.3 %  in the third quarter of 2001, in the same quarter
    of  2002, answer of increasing is 58.5 % and decreasing is 24.5 %

    While  answer  of  increasing  expectation  was  41.8  %  and decreasing expectation was 32.3  %  in  the fourth  quarter
    of  2001, in the same quarter of  2002, answer of increasing expectation is 36.2 % and decreasing expectation ,is 38.4 %

    Percentage distrubitions of establishments on domestic sales;

    While answer of  increasing  was  51.3  %  and decreasing was 31.3 % i n the third quarter of 2001, in the same quarter
    of 2002, answer of increasing is 58.0 % and decreasing is 21.9 %

    While answer of  increasing expectation  was  46.7 %  and  decreasing  expectation was  24.1 %  in  the  fourth  quarter
    of 2001, in the same quarter of 2002, answer of increasing expectation is 34.0 % and decreasing expectation is  39.4 %

    Percentage distrubitions of establishments on sale prices;

    While answer of increasing was  72.6  %  and  decreasing was 11.7  %  in the third quarter of 2001, in the same quarter
    of 2002, answer of increasing is 69.2 % and decreasing is 3.0 %

    While answer  of  increasing expectation was 72.2  %  and  decreasing expectation  was  2.3 %   in the fourth  quarter
    of 2001, in the same quarter of 2002, answer of increasing expectation is 54.8 % and decreasing expectation is 1.3 %

    Percentage distrubitions of establishments on raw material prices;

    While answer of  increasing was  80.0  %  and decreasing was  6.2  %  in the third quarter of 2001, in the same quarter
    of 2002, answer of increasing is 78.4 % and decreasing is 1.4 %

   While answer of  increasing expectation was  73.6  %  and  decreasing  expectation was  0.9  %   in  the  fourth  quarter
   of 2001, in the same quarter of 2002, answer of increasing expectation is 63.0 % and decreasing expectation is 1.6 %
