THE RESULT OF THE QUARTERLY TENDENCY SURVEY WHICH REFLECT
VIEW OF THE ESTABLISHMENTS IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY ON
PRODUCTION, SALES, STOCKS AND PRICES FOR THE REALISATION IN
THE SECOND QUARTER (APRIL-MAY-JUNE)OF 1998 AND EXPECTATION FOR
THE THIRD QUARTER (JULY-AUGUST-SEPTEMBER) OF 1998

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, INCREASED FROM 79.4 % IN THE SECOND QUARTER OF 1997 TO 76.5 % IN SECOND QUARTER OF 1998, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 1903 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.


Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same quarter of the previous year is summarized below;





A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in the second of 1998 and expectation in the third quarter of 1998 about production, sales, prices and stocks.


At the evaluation;


Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

While answer of increasing was 58.7 % and decreasing was 24.4 % in the second quarter
of 1997,in the same quarter of 1998,answer of increasing is 55.6 % and decreasing is 26.1 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 64.8 % and decreasing expectation was 11.9 %
in the third quarter of 1997, in the same quarter of 1998, answer of increasing expectation is 45.5 % and decreasing expectation is 21.6 %


Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

While answer of increasing was 60.8 % and decreasing was 18.1 % in the second quarter
of 1997,in the same quarter of 1998,answer of increasing is 49.0 % and decreasing is 35.4 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 65.3 % and decreasing expectation was 8.9 %
in the second quarter of 1997, in the same quarter of 1998, answer of increasing expectation
is 60.7 % and decreasing expectation is 10.9 %


Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

While answer of increasing was 84.4 % and decreasing was 1.5 % in the second quarter of
1997, in the same quarter of 1998, answer of increasing is 77.4 % and decreasing is 4.0 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 84.5 % and decreasing expectation was 0.5 %
in the second quarter of 1997, in the same quarter of 1998, answer of increasing expectation
is 75.3 % and decreasing expectation is 4.0 %


Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

While answer of increasing was 80.5 % and decreasing was 6.4 % in the second quarter of
1997,in the same quarter of 1998, answer of increasing is 76.9 % and decreasing is 4.4 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 80.3 % and decreasing expectation was 0.7 %
in the second quarter of 1997, in the same quarter of 1998, answer of increasing expectation
is 80.8 % anddecreasing expectation is 1.0 %
