IN 1996 FIRST QUARTER (JANUARY-FEBRUARY-MARCH)
EXPECTATIONS FOR THE SECOND QUARTER
(APRIL-MAY-JUNE)


ACCORDING TO THE PROVISIONAL RESULTS OF QUARTERLY MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY TENDENCY SURVEY COMPILED FROM 2013 ESTABLISHMENTS, THE PRODUCTION WEIGHTED CAPACITY UTILIZATION HAS INCREASED TO 76.6 % IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 1996. THE FIGURE WAS 75.3 % IN THE SAME QUARTER OF PREVIOUS YEAR.

The reasons for inability to full capacity utilization are:

33.0 % of the establishments stated an increased while the 46.9 % stated a decrease of production in the first quarter of 1996. The figures in the same quarter of the previous year were 34.4 %, and 46.4 %, respectively.

65.7 % of the establishments expect an increase, while 11.2 % expect a decrease in production in the second quarter of 1996. In the same quarter of 1995, the expectations were 59.9 %, and 14.6 %, respectively.

As for domestic sales,

37.1 % of the establishments stated an increased while the 43.5 % stated a decrease of production in the first quarter of 1996. The figures in the same quarter of the previous year were 34.0 %, and 49.7 %, respectively.

66.6 % of the establishments expect an increase, while 10.4 % expect a decrease in production in the second quarter of 1996. The expectations in previous year were 62.0 %, and 12.1 %, respectively.
