PRESIDENT OF THE STATE INSTITUTE OF STATISTICS EXPLAINED
 THE RESULT OF THE QUARTERLY TENDENCY SURVEY WHICH REFLECT VIEW OF THE       ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY ON PRODUCTION, SALES, STOCKS
AND PRICES FOR THE REALISATION IN  THE FIRST QUARTER
  ( JANUARY - FEBRUARY - MARCH )  OF 2001 AND EXPECTATION  FOR  THE SECOND QUARTER            ( APRIL - MAY - JUNE )  OF  2001

ACCORDING TO THE STATEMENT OF THE PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT
IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, DECREASED FROM 72.6 % IN  THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2000 TO  70.0 %  IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2001, FROM THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 2055 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.

Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same quarter of the previous year is summarized below;



A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present  situation in                    the  first 2001 and  expectation in the second quarter of 2001 about production, domestic sales, sales prices and
raw material prices.

At the evaluation;
Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

While answer of  increasing was  35.9 % and decreasing was 49.2 % in the first quarter  of 2000, in the same quarter
of 2001, answer of increasing is 17.6 % and decreasing is  68.1 %

While  answer  of  increasing  expectation was  67.8 %  and decreasing expectation was 8.4 % in the second  quarter of  2000, in the same  quarter of  2001, answer of increasing expectation is 47.1 % and decreasing expectation is 19.2  %

Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

While answer of  increasing was  35.1 % and decreasing was 50.9 % in the first quarter of 2000, in the same quarter of
2001, answer of increasing is 17.2  % and decreasing is 69.8 %

While answer of  increasing expectation was  65.7 %  and  decreasing expectation was   7.8 % in the second quarter of
2000,  in the same quarter of 2001, answer of increasing expectation is 45.2 % and decreasing expectation is 24.4 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

While answer of increasing was  72.8 % and decreasing was 3.1 % in the first quarter  of 2000,  in  the same quarter of
2001, answer of increasing is  77.6 % and decreasing is 7.6 %

While answer of increasing expectation was   63.0  % and decreasing  expectation was  0.3 % in the second  quarter of
2000, in the same quarter of 2001, answer of increasing expectation is 70.4 % and decreasing expectation is 1.2 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

While answer of increasing was  80.4 % and decreasing was  1.4 % in the first  quarter  of 2000, in the same quarter of
2001, answer of increasing is  76.7 % and decreasing is 5.7 %

While  answer of  increasing  expectation  was  71.0 %  and decreasing expectation was 0.2 % in the second quarter of
2000, in the same quarter of 2001, answer of increasing expectation is 74.6 % and decreasing expectation is   3.8  %
