  PRESIDENT OF THE STATE INSTITUTE OF STATISTICS EXPLAINED 
 THE RESULT OF THE QUARTERLY TENDENCY SURVEY WHICH REFLECT VIEW OF THE ESTABLISHMENTS IN MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY ON PRODUCTION, SALES, STOCKS AND PRICES FOR THE REALISATION IN  THE FIRST  QUARTER
( JANUARY - FEBRUARY - MARCH ) OF 1999 AND EXPECTATION FOR THE SECOND QUARTER   (APRIL - MAY - JUNE ) OF 1999 

        ACCORDING   TO   THE   STATEMENT   OF   THE   PRESIDENT  OF  SIS,  RATE  OF  CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE, DECREASED FROM 77.5 % IN  THE FIRST  QUARTER  OF  1998  TO  70.1  %  IN  FIRST  QUARTER  OF  1999,  FROM  THE   PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 1757 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.

Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same quarter of the previous year is summarized below;
 


A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation in the first quarter 1999 and  expectation in the second quarter of 1999 about production, sales, prices and stocks.

At the evaluation;

Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

While answer of increasing was  33.7 % and decreasing was 48.2 % in the first quarter  of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing is 29.5 % and decreasing is 56.3 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 61.2 % and decreasing expectation was 16.3 % in the second  quarter of 1998, in the same  quarter of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 65.9 % and decreasing expectation is  8.7  %

Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

While answer of  increasing was  33.6 % and decreasing was 50.1  % in the first quarter  of 1998,in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing is 26.3  % and decreasing is 59.3 %

While answer of increasing expectation was  69.1 % and decreasing expectation was  10.7 % in the second  quarter of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 70.6 % and decreasing expectation is 5.8 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

While answer of increasing was  61.5 % and decreasing was 2.9 % in the first  quarter  of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing is 73.1 % and decreasing is 2.9 %

While answer of increasing expectation was   63.1  % and decreasing  expectation was  0.4 % in the second  quarter of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 67.8 % and decreasing expectation is 1.1 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

While answer of increasing was  78.5 % and decreasing was 4.6 % in the first  quarter  of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing is  80.3 % and decreasing is 4.7 %

While answer of increasing expectation was   68.9 % and decreasing expectation was 1.9 % in the second quarter of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing expectation is 73.9 % and decreasing expectation is 0.3 %
