PRESIDENT OF THE STATE INSTITUTE OF STATISTICS EXPLAINED
 THE RESULT OF THE QUARTERLY TENDENCY SURVEY WHICH REFLECT VIEW OF THE ESTABLISHMENTS IN THE  MANUFACTURING  INDUSTRY  ON  PRODUCTION,  SALES,  STOCKS AND PRICES FOR THE REALIZATION IN THE FOURTH QUARTER ( OCTOBER - NOVEMBER - DECEMBER ) OF 1999 AND EXPECTATION FOR THE FIRST QUARTER  ( JANUARY - FEBRUARY - MARCH ) OF 2000

ACCORDING  TO  THE  STATEMENT  OF  THE  PRESIDENT OF SIS, RATE OF CAPACITY UTILIZATION THAT IS WEIGHTED BY PRODUCTION VALUE,  DECREASED FROM 75.3 % IN  THE FOURTH QUARTER OF 1998 TO 71.7 % IN THE FOURTH QUARTER  OF 1999, FROM  THE PRIMARILY PROVISIONAL RESULT OF 1842 LARGE SCALE MANUFACTURING INDUSTRIAL ESTABLISHMENTS.

Comparison of the reasons for not working in full capacity to the same quarter of the previous year is summarized below;



           A general evaluation has done in the written explanation on the view of establishments for the present situation  in  the  fourth  quarter  1999  and  expectation in the first quarter of 2000 about production, domestic sales, sales prices and raw material prices.

At the evaluation;

Percentage distributions of establishments on production are;

While answer of  increasing was  40.9 % and decreasing was 46.8 % in the fourth quarter  of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing is 56.5 % and decreasing is 30.3 %

While answer of increasing expectation was 37.2 % and decreasing expectation was 34.3 % in the first  quarter of  1999, in  the  same quarter of 2000, answer  of increasing expectation is 39.6 % and decreasing expectation     is  33.5  %

Percentage distributions of establishments on domestic sales;

While answer of  increasing was  37.1 % and decreasing was 48.1  % in the fourth quarter  of 1998,in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing is 53.3  % and decreasing is 34.1 %

While answer of increasing expectation was  43.5 % and decreasing expectation was  25.1 % in the first  quarter of 1999, in the same quarter of 2000, answer of increasing expectation is 37.1 % and decreasing expectation
is 29.7 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on sale prices;

While answer of increasing was  51.7 % and decreasing was 18.7 % in the fourth  quarter  of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing is 80.4 % and decreasing is 1.2 %

While   answer  of increasing  expectation  was   56.1  %  and  decreasing   expectation  was   6.2 %  in the first  quarter   of  1999, in  the  same  quarter  of  2000, answer  of  increasing  expectation  is  61.3 % and decreasing expectation is 1.3 %

Percentage distributions of establishments on raw material prices;

While answer of increasing was  66.0 % and decreasing was 10.6 % in the fourth  quarter  of 1998, in the same quarter of 1999, answer of increasing is  83.2 % and decreasing is 1.4 %

While answer of increasing expectation was   70.6 % and decreasing expectation was 3.2 % in the first  quarter of 1999, in the same quarter of 2000, answer of increasing expectation is 68.8 % and decreasing expectation is 2.0 %
