PERSONS NOT IN LABOUR FORCE

When the distribution of persons not in labour force was examined in certain main groups, housewives with 47.5% (12 million 102 thousand persons) comprise a considerable part of the persons not in the labour force. This was followed by students, retired persons and disabled with 13.7%, 10.9% and 9.8% respectively.
51.1% of persons not in labour force were housewives in urban areas. This was followed by students, retired persons and disabled with 16.2%, 13.5% and 6.5% respectively. In rural areas, 40.5% of persons not in labour force were housewives. This was followed by disabled people, students and retired persons with 16.1%, 9% and 5.9% respectively.
