LABOUR FORCE PARTICIPATION RATE
| The labour force participation rate (LFPR) which is an important indicator of | ||||
| labour force, decreased for Turkey as a whole and also for urban and rural | ||||
| areas when compared to the results of the fourth quarter of 2002. LFPR | ||||
| decreased from 50.3% to 47.1% for total, decreased from 44.7% to 43.1% | ||||
| for urban areas, and decreased from 59.2% to 53.6% for rural areas. | ||||
| In the same period when the LFPR was examined by sex, it decreased from | ||||
| 71.8% to 69.5% for male, and from 29.2% to 25.1% for female. | ||||
