The Turkish Society of Statistics was established by the State Intitute of Statistics on October 3, 1990.
The Turkish Society of Statistics aims to assure the development and expansion of statistics and other sciences and other sciences dealing with probability; to increase the contribution, importance and efficiency of statistics, statisticians and statistics users; and to cooperate with other related national and internatioal institutions for the economic and technological development of our country. The society held its third General Committee Meeting on April 19, 1993.
Holders of a university degree in statistics or other sciences dealing with probability, humanites, administrative and social sciences or individuals who make use of statistics in their careers and citizens of the Turkish Republic can apply for membership to the society.
